CARE Program
"CARE is a telephone reassurance program in St. Louis City through the St. Louis Fire Department. Elderly and/or disabled City residents can sign up for this service. An automated system calls the resident 7 days a week, if there is no live answer after the 3rd attempt, the system notifies the 911 center to send emergency personnel to check on the resident. This is a great way to check on elderly friends or relatives during excessive heat or cold outbreaks. For more information, call the St. Louis Fire Department at 314-289-1988, and ask about CARE."

The St. Louis Fire Department uses the CARE (Call Reassurance) phone system from Database Systems Corp. to provide its senior citizens with a phone reassurance service. The St. Louis Fire Department was a prior user of an "Are You OK?"® system from Northland Innovation Corp. and opted to replace this older system with the modern Care (Call Reassurance) phone system. Citizens can be called daily free of charge to ensure their well-being.
Medication Reminders
Database Systems Corp. (DSC) provides community calling programs such as telephone reassurance phone systems that contact homebound residents to ensure their well-being.
CARE (Call Reassurance) systems can also be used to checkin on latchkey children when they are alone at home after school.
CARE can do more than check on the well-being of residents. This advanced calling technology can deliver phone messages such as medication reminders to seniors and homebound patients. A recorded message can be delivered to either answering machines or to individuals reminding them to take their prescription medicines.
Call reminders can be customized for each senior including special instructions such as medication dosage and times to take them.
Contact DSC to learn more about our CARE phone systems that include latchkey kids calling services and medication reminders for senior citizens.
"Are You OK?"® and RUOK® are registered names of Bruce L Johnson (Individual). For a comparison with our CARE system, please visit our RUOK® vs CARE web page.
